PAM-Go

The PAM-Go system has been designed to enable a recordist to operate from, for example, a small open boat, a harbourside or jetty, or the exposed deck of a larger vessel. Its small size allows for on-the-go acoustic monitoring as well as enabling simple and quick deployment. This makes PAM-Go a convenient option for short acoustic monitoring operations from a large range of vessels and platforms.

The PAM-Go is self-contained within a robust, waterproof carry case. The case houses a rechargeable power supply, signal conditioning electronics and a 4-ch high-speed data acquisition unit (DAQ). The DAQ can sample up to four hydrophone channels at 500 kHz, 16-bit. Other electronic modules are customisable. For example, the PAMGo can incorporate a Reson EC6081 Mk2 preamplifier and filter unit for use with calibrated reference hydrophones. There are a range of hydrophone options available, for applications including marine mammal mitigation monitoring and sound measurement.

Acoustic and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data are recorded on a tablet or laptop computer configured with PAMGuard software. Computer connectivity is provided by a local wireless network, with an ethernet cable as an alternative option.
